Different Classifications Of Velvet Fabrics

    The velvet fabric is made of cocoon grade-A raw silk, and silk is also used as warp and cotton yarn as weft interweaving, and silk or rayon is used for pile loops. The warp and weft are first degummed or semi-degummed, dyed, twisted, and then woven. According to different purposes, different raw materials can be used for weaving. It is often used as home fabrics such as sofa decoration fabrics and clothing fabrics.

    According to different designs, there are two types of floral velvet and plain velvet. Among them, part of the loops are cut according to the designed pattern, and finally cut into fluff, and then the pattern is formed between the fluff and the loops. Flower velvet can also be divided into two types: "bright flowers" and "dark flowers". Bright flowers are generally represented by various patterns, while dark flowers are only pure-color fabrics. There are various styles of patterns. Most flower velvets have a concave-convex feeling and are generally dark in color. Plain velvet refers to a fabric whose surface is all loops.

    According to different techniques, it can be divided into crumpled velvet, Velveteen velvet, and jacquard velvet.

    Crumpled velvet is pure velvet that has been twisted and crumpled by a machine. Its mottled surface produces a nice sheen effect, which is more common in fashion design.

    Velveteen velvet is smoother in touch and shinier in appearance. It is produced by high-pressure flattening of ordinary velvet fluff and has a higher fluff density than ordinary velvet.

    Jacquard velvet trims off a part of the fluff from pure velvet according to the design pattern, and the remaining fluff presents a three-dimensional jacquard pattern, which is jacquard velvet. Flowers and abstract lines are the most common jacquard patterns, which are more commonly used in home decoration.
